High schools and high school sports across Washington are closed for the school year, but the Scorebook Live Today podcast has ramped things up.
Each weekday, analyst Dan Dickau is interviewing a new expert in their respective field. Dickau hopes to both entertain and provide perspective to understand how uniquely sports can prepare one for a wide array of things.
On Thursday, Boise State men’s basketball assistant coach and author R-Jay Barsh joins to talk about the grind of a college basketball coach, what separates Tacoma basketball and why D-I isn’t the end-all be-all of college basketball. Barsh’s connections to the state of Washington run deep, having played at Puyallup High School and coached at University of Puget Sound and Tacoma Community College. He wrote the book Culture Maximus about his leadership and experiences re-shaping three college basketball programs.
Also, stay for Dan Dickau’s story about Lorenzo Romar’s role in his transfer from Washington to Gonzaga.
